FAQs 1891 by SFERRA is a stylish romp with bedding dressed to thrill. The smart set will be delighted with fashionable fineries for the bed which amuse and charm, and are offered at a marvelously accessible price!

“1891 by SFERRA is all about pretty…” states Aaron Stewart, Creative Director, describing the basic spirit of the new brand. “There’s something traditional and classical about it, but it’s made lively and modern with surprising color twists. All sheeting and top-of-bed ensembles are touched with some notable detailing: merry scalloped stitching, a ruffled or a flanged edge, and lavish embroidery… because details matter. ”

THE SWEET SOLEIL COLLECTION

The photographs of the late Slim Aarons inspired the first 1891 by SFERRA collection, Sweet Soleil. Viewing the jet set lifestyle in the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, Aarons created iconic photographs of high society set in the luxur y seaside havens of Palm Beach, the Caribbean and the Riviera, capturing “…beautiful people doing beautiful things in beautiful places”. The Sweet Soleil Collection’s three bed ensembles are composed with coquettish charm: St. Tropez, Palm Beach Posy, and Monte Carlo, the sunny playgrounds of Slim Aaron’s tony subjects. As one might expect from SFERRA, the same culture of quality, craftsmanship and attention to the details guides every creative and business decision of 1891 by SFERRA. The heart of the collection is luscious prints in delightful colors, all finished with unique embellishments. Each bed offers two distinct sheeting choices to pair with 400 thread count sateen top-of-bed: Signature Sateen 450 thread count Supima® cotton solid sateen sheeting in a lush sorbet palette of Azalea, Marine, Ivory and White, or, coordinating print sheets in a silken 400 thread count cotton sateen.

St. Tropez evokes the Mediterranean port, displaying the exuberant colors of the French Riviera. Printed St. Tropez duvet and shams resemble a fanciful wallpaper design from chateau parlor or yacht. Rendezvous printed sheets and cases frolic in a quasi-traditional wedding-quilt pattern; percale Portico quilt layers in with a subtle terrazzo all-over pattern. Decorative pillows are all style, color and grace: Bloom is a blanket of embroidered flowers and leaves; Gypsy bolster pillow sports delicate embroidered stitching and a ruffled, pleated edge—while linen Petticoat bed skirt sports this same embroidery on an Azalea pink ground. Cute Yacht Club adds the St. Tropez boaty touch, while soft, Parlor velvet continental pillows, and leaf with vine embroidered After Six velvet pillows are welcome under-elbow loungers.

Monte Carlo is the serene, sublime story for those who love to luxuriate in white and ivory: so fresh, clean and crisp for the bed! Monte Carlo, a yarndyed jacquard damask pattern duvet and shams set exudes the romantic, glamorous air of a highrollers casino den with handsome Ivory sateen flanged borders. Monte Carlo Matelassé damask pattern is a winner, hands down! Plissage pleated sateen bed skirt has special button detailing. Add to this perfect hideaway with decorative pillows – Parlor velvet continental pillows, After Six velvet pillow, Lido Lounger bolster in Ivory, and the lavishly embroidered Bonbon. Aces in any book!

Pretty, perk y and sunny: the Palm Beach Posy ensemble in a nutshell! Candystripe sheets and cases tell a sugar-sweet bedding story; while Palm Beach Posy printed duvet and shams add spice and everything nice with a bevy of 60’s inspired blooms. Bouquet floral-stitched quilt with subtle all-over flower pattern lends a serenely warm layer to the bed, while the ruf fle - edged linen Culotte bed skirt in Marine gives a sassy touch. The final finishing touches: After Six pillow in Citron, bolster Lido Lounger in Azalea, the lavishly embroidered Bonbon in Marine and the happy Garden Party pillow. And of course, Parlor velvet continental shams. Such pleasantries!

THE SALON COLLECTION

1891 by SFERRA is proud to announce its sophomore line, The Salon Collection, featuring three new bed designs as well as a full line of basic sheeting and bed coverings. SFERRA continues its commitment to bringing fine linens with refined embellishments to a larger demographic with unique designs at unique price points.

Marie Antoinette served as SFERRA's Creative Director Aaron Stewart’s muse and inspiration for The Salon Collection. This most elusive, evocative and divisive figure left her imprint on an era with a life that was both flirtatious and glamorous. “Taking a cue from the lavish lifestyle of Versailles in which she lived, and juxtaposing the sweet simplicity that she found in her Petit Hameau where she played at farm life,” comments Stewart “we produced distinctive beds and bedding accessories that enchant and gratify the senses as she did”.

As the leading fashion icon of her day, her outfits would often reflect the natural world, whether there were flowers on her gown, fur on her shoes or birds peaking out of her coiffure. Stewart was drawn to the extravagant, large-scale motifs that epitomized 18th century French couture and sought to bring that sensibility out of the museum and into the bedroom. Following the 1891 by SFERRA mantra of ‘traditional with a twist’ he designed classical, quintessential creations re-colored to fit modern day living.

Decadent. Delightful. Darling: all words that sum up this collection’s three main offerings. Arbor, Fontainbleu and Troubadour feature candy-bright colors, intricate embroideries and plush textures carefully coordinated to tell stories of nature and life. The printed sateen sheet sets and duvet cover with sham sets feature the 1891 by SFERRA Signature Scallop embellished stitch to unify each ensemble.
